When elite sports meet pastry-making: a weekend of sharing at L’Échappée Vosgienne

- June 17

L’Échappée Vosgienne was pleased to welcome Titouan Carod, a professional mountain biker and one of France’s leading riders in the sport, accompanied by Julia Pellier, a dietitian for the BMC team.

On the agenda:

  • Bike Rides in the Vosges
  • recovery
  • moments of togetherness
  • but also… pastries.

Because at L’Échappée Vosgienne, performance isn’t just about training.

A weekend focused on movement… and fun

During their stay at L’Échappée Vosgienne, Titouan Carod and Julia Pellier were able to enjoy:

  • Routes in the Vosges for a little bike ride
  • recovery infrastructure
  • the quiet, natural setting of the place

But this weekend wasn't all about sports.

The idea was also to take our time:

  • to exchange
  • to share
  • and to create simple moments centered around shared passions.

An Interview with Jonathan Mougel, "Meilleur Ouvrier de France" Pastry Chef

One of the highlights of the weekend was meeting Jonathan Mougel, a “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” pastry chef.

Together, they spent some time exploring pastry creation, combining precision, creativity, and attention to detail.

This was a particularly interesting discussion, given the many connections between elite sports and high-end pastry making:

  • rigor
  • patience
  • rehearsal
  • pursuit of progress
  • balance management

Two different worlds… but driven by very similar demands.

When Performance Goes Hand in Hand with a Friendly Atmosphere

At L’Échappée Vosgienne, we firmly believe that a sports vacation is about more than just the kilometers covered or the workouts completed.

Moments of relaxation, sharing, and camaraderie are an integral part of the experience.

That’s also what makes this kind of gathering particularly enriching:
seeing athletes, healthcare professionals, and master artisans simply chatting together around the same table.

A Brunch Like No Other

Guests who attended Sunday brunch had the chance to discover and taste the creations made over the weekend.

A unique experience combining:

  • gastronomy
  • sports
  • creativity
  • and passion

All this in a warm and friendly atmosphere that stays true to the spirit of L’Échappée Vosgienne.

A Comprehensive View of Sports and Well-Being

This weekend perfectly illustrates what we hope to develop in Gérardmer:

A place where:

  • Sports and the art of living go hand in hand
  • Performance Meets Pleasure
  • and where everyone can come and enjoy an authentic experience in the heart of the Vosges.

Whether you're a top-level athlete, an outdoor enthusiast, a baking lover… or just curious.

Thank you for these moments of sharing

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Titouan Carod, Julia Pellier, and Jonathan Mougel for their down-to-earth nature, their willingness to help, and these wonderful moments of connection.

And thank you also to everyone who attended the brunch and came to share this moment with us.

See you soon at L’Échappée Vosgienne 🌲🚴‍♂️☕🍰
